Dr. Adjei was born on March 9, 1943, in Nkonya Ntsumuru, in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. He pursued higher education at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology in 1970. His academic journey continued at the University of Strathclyde, where he obtained a Ph.D. in Research Methods & Statistics in Psychology in 1973.

In 1989, Dr. Adjei founded Kasapreko Company Limited with a clear vision: to provide quality and affordable drinks to Ghanaians. The company’s headquarters are located on Spintex Road, Accra, Ghana. KCL’s flagship product is Alomo Bitters, a herbal-based alcoholic drink that has gained immense popularity in Ghana and beyond. Alomo Bitters is known for its unique blend of traditional herbs and its health benefits.

KCL produces a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Some of their key brands include:Alcoholic Drinks: Alomo Bitters, Kalahari Bitters, K20 Whisky, Tonic Wine, and Carnival Strawberry. Non-Alcoholic Drinks include; Storm Energy Drink, Awake Drinking Water, Royal Drinks, Veraldo, and Puma Drinks. KCL’s brands have made significant inroads into various African markets. Notably, Alomo Bitters has become a popular herbal drink in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In 2020, when faced with the shortage of hand sanitizers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KCL swiftly shifted its production to mass-produce hand sanitizers. This move demonstrated their commitment to public health and safety.

In 2019, Kasapreko was honored as the Outstanding Alcoholic Beverage Company of the Year. In the same year, KCL received an honorary award from the Association of Ghana Industries.
