Samsung’s latest security enhancements for Galaxy devices.

Samsung’s Quick Share feature, which allows you to send files instantly to up to five other Android devices, now comes with a privacy upgrade called “Private Sharing.”
Here’s how it works:
- Selective Sharing: With Private Sharing, you can choose specific contacts who can view the files you’re sending. These chosen contacts won’t be able to share your files with anyone else.
- Expiration Dates: You can set an expiration date for shared files. Once the time limit expires, access to those files also expires. This feature gives you control over how long others can access the shared content.
- Read-Only and No Screenshots: You can make files read-only and block screenshotting. Recipients won’t be able to edit or alter the files, and you’ll know when they received and opened them.
- Encryption: All Private Sharing files are encrypted, ensuring data security during transmission.
Keep in mind that Private Sharing currently works only with Samsung devices. While Quick Share is compatible with other Android devices, recipients must also have Samsung phones or tablets to use Private Sharing.
For Galaxy S24 users, Samsung has introduced Enhanced Data Protection for data stored in Samsung Cloud.
Here’s what you need to know:
- End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): When enabled, data saved in Samsung Cloud is end-to-end encrypted. Only you can access this data from the specific device where it’s stored. Not even Samsung has access to E2EE data.
- Activation: You can enable Enhanced Data Protection from the Samsung Cloud app or through your Galaxy’s device settings. Choose whether to encrypt your phone’s backup data, synced data, or both.
- Recovery Code: Samsung provides a recovery code for added security.
Remember, these features enhance privacy and protect your data, making your Galaxy device even more secure.
