Stephen Blewett has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for MTN Ghana, effective March 2024. He takes over from Selorm Adadevoh, who has been appointed the Chief Commercial Officer of MTN Group. This leadership transition comes as part of the company’s strategic plan to ensure orderly succession.

Stephen Blewett brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He re-joined MTN in July 2023 as the Operations Executive for Markets, with executive responsibility for the Group’s smaller West and Central Africa markets. His portfolio includes providing broader operations support across the region to the Group’s Senior Vice President for Markets. Before rejoining MTN, Blewett served as the Chief Operating Officer of Digicel.

Notably, Stephen has a history with MTN. He previously spent seven years at the company, serving as the CEO for MTN Benin and later MTN Cameroon. His familiarity with the telecommunications landscape in Africa positions him well to lead MTN Ghana into the future.

Selorm Adadevoh, the outgoing CEO of MTN Ghana, has been appointed to the new role of MTN Group Chief Commercial Officer. In this capacity, he will take over from Jens Schulte-Bockum, who steps down as Group Chief Operating Officer at the end of his contract term in March 2024. Selorm’s contributions during his tenure as MTN Ghana CEO have been significant. Under his leadership, the company underwent transformational changes and embraced the Ambition 2025 strategy, positioning MTN Ghana as a platform player.

As Stephen Blewett assumes the role of CEO for MTN Ghana, the company looks forward to achieving its Ambition 2025 goals and beyond. Chairman Dr. Ishmael Yamson expressed confidence in Stephen’s ability to lead the organization effectively. The transition ensures continuity and strategic alignment within the MTN Group.

Congratulations to Selorm Adadevoh on his new appointment, and a warm welcome to Stephen Blewett as he takes the helm at MTN Ghana. The telecommunications industry in Ghana can anticipate exciting developments under his leadership.
